What’s Ahead for Clean Energy Columbus in 2026

Looking Ahead to 2026

CEC is preparing for a year of new tools and expanded community engagement. In 2026, residents will see a new CEC website with an interactive map that helps residents easily find local workforce training opportunities. The updated site will make clean energy information more accessible and easier to navigate. CEC will also continue growing its education efforts, beginning with a career fair event at Eastland Career Center on February 26th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Why Clean Energy Columbus Matters

Clean Energy Columbus helps strengthen the community by lowering utility costs, reducing emissions, and supporting local investment. As Ohio’s largest aggregation program, it serves over 200,000 residents and has delivered more than $55 million in savings. In 2025, CEC invested over $800,000 in local workforce programs and helped cut approximately 6.4 million metric tons of emissions. At its core, CEC is committed to reinvesting in Columbus neighborhoods to build a healthier, more resilient city.

Success Story

CEC is proud to spotlight Ronald Armstrong, a graduate of ARCH’s solar installation program—one of our trusted community partners.

Hi, my name is Ronald Armstrong. I’ve had a rough start to life, including incarceration. While I was in prison, I had the opportunity to take a solar installation class sponsored by ARCH. Through this program, I was able to earn a PV1 certification. Because of this program, I can change my life for the better. ARCH helped me get a job right out of prison, making over $45 an hour. This is more than I’ve ever made.  For the first time in my life, I’m focused on a career and working in a field that I like and want to work in. Honestly, I had no idea that I could’ve turned my life around this fast. I’ve literally done a complete 360 with my life, and I love it. ARCH also helped me get my own apartment. I am so thankful for ARCH, which helped me to support my reentry. Thank you, guys. Keep up the good work and keep lowering the recidivism rate, thanks.

Ronald’s story is a reminder of how clean energy investments don’t just power homes; they open doors, create stability, and strengthen our community.
